CASANOVA 8 is out!

Casanova 8 is out and about. What did you think of it?

New art style should create some interesting opinions, even if they remain silent. I remember always noticing when a book changed styles (even if the same artist changed his own style on purpose) and it was great when the new style worked for the book.

I'm wondering if I'm working for the book, but I guess, after only one issue in, is still too early to know.

Love it. The style's definitely different, but it still fits the characters and keeps the awesomeness moving. And that blue is INTENSE.

I don't think it's lost anything. It still feels like Casanova should. I'm loving it so far.

And yes, the BLUE is INTENSE!!!

As noted above; the shift in the color pallette was SHOCKING! Beyond that, it seemed to me that Fabio did a lot to blend his style into what his brother had been doing on the book. There are elements of the book that I preferred Gabriel's treatment of. Just as Fabio brings new things that I'm looking forward to seeing more of. The last page of issue 8 spoke the loudest to me: "This is not the same 'Casanova'!" Both artists draw such sexy women, though, who can complain?

Great. Just Great. I am such a fan of both of your work. The transition is smooth and not jolting whatsoever. Thanks guys

Simply put, Fabio killed it with this issue. The art blended itself in with what came before very well, but it still maintained it's own identity. At times, especially that last page, it smacked of a more kinetic Paul Pope. It was a beautifully made book and I can't wait for the next one.

I knew about the color change, but it was still a little weird to see. However, I really grew to love the blue tones on the beach pages, as it set the mood perfectly.

I have to say, I was really curious to see how this would turn out, and I'm dig'n it.

I am wondering though, who is responsible for Panel layouts? I get the idea that Fraction likes to set up most of the book himself.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm glad everybody is enjoying my first issue.

Sam, Matt has a layout in his mind (6 panels grid) and works with that in mind and on the script, so I know what he wants. But I can change the layout any way I want to better tell the story.

Excellent! As stated, the color change was the only real shocker, The way the blue ink came out, at least in the copy I bought, the blue was a little hard to look at. But looking at the graphic here on the blog - the blue is much nicer and less intense than it came out from the printers.
